Old bridge to Eilandje in Ypres removed

The bridge to the Island and the associated catering business needed to be replaced: it was too narrow and therefore unsafe. At the initiative of the manager of the catering business on the Eilandje, a new bridge is now being built, which will cost 300,000 euros. It is a symbolic bridge: the word ‘Peace’ is incorporated into it in 86 languages.
