Olav Kooij finally takes stage victory and overall win ZLM Tour in Oosterhout

Cyclist Olav Kooij defended his lead in the ZLM Tour in style on Sunday. The 21-year-old Jumbo-Visma sprinter took the stage victory in the fourth and final stage with start and finish in Oosterhout and thus secured the leader’s jersey.

He took the lead in the standings in the second stage on Friday. Thanks to his second place, he took over the lead from compatriot Nils Eekhoff.

In the 158.8 kilometer stage, several riders went on an adventure on Sunday afternoon. But in the final phase in the local rounds everything came together and Kooij was successfully put into position by his teammates. He finished it in the sprint.
