Olaf Schubert postulates in mockumentary: “Mick Jagger is my father!”

It is probably one of the steepest theses in music history: in a mockumentary he created, Olaf Schubert postulates that he is the son of Mick Jagger. Dubbed Olaf Jagger, the film is slated to hit theaters in April 2023 and is unsurprisingly not deadly serious, but rather a comedic work.

Olaf Schubert, the child of an affair?

A certain resemblance cannot be dismissed out of hand – and as far as age is concerned, the comedian from Plauen’s claim could also be based on facts: Olaf Schubert is 55 years old, Mick Jagger will be celebrating his 80th birthday next year . According to his manager, Schubert assumes in the strip that his mother had an affair with the rock star after a Rolling Stones concert in West Berlin in the late 1960s. After all, he looks for evidence of his origins in old Stasi files, among other things.

Devastation in the Waldbühne & Pustekuchen in East Berlin

The Rolling Stones actually only performed once in West Berlin during the decade mentioned, and that was on September 15, 1965 in the Waldbühne. The gig sank into sheer chaos: Large parts of the interior were destroyed, dozens of people were injured and the band stopped their performance after only four songs.

Four years later, many fans in East Germany were hoping for another concert by the English: “RIAS” announced a show on the Axel Springer high-rise for October 7, 1969 to mark the 20th anniversary of the GDR. The building was right next to the wall in Kreuzberg and on the other side was a large wasteland that could have accommodated tens of thousands of fans. The crux: The rumor arose from the joking mood of moderator Kai Blömer. Crowds of teenagers waited and waited – in vain.
