OHL win 1-3 in Ostend, Standard and Cercle Brugge draw 1-1
Levan Shengelia (34th) ensured that OHL was allowed to rest 0-1 on the coast. Shortly after the break, Sory Kaba (48th) doubled the lead. Maxime D’Arpino (56th) softened to 1-2. Five minutes before the end, Musa Al-Taamari took the tension out of the game again.
Standard desperately needs points if it doesn’t want to get involved in the relegation battle, but at halftime the team from Liège was 0-1 behind. Dino Hotic (44th) had ensured that with a nice free kick. In the 55th minute Nicolas Raskin brought the home side alongside. Deep into injury time, Cercle ended up with ten, after a second yellow card for Edgaras Utkus. Moussa Sissako tapped the ball into the goal in the ensuing free kick. Standard did not get the three points, the VAR had seen offside.
KV Kortrijk – Sint-Truiden
The visitors took the lead after 11 minutes past Aboubakary Koita. He outwitted Joris Delle, the replacement for the sick Marko Ilic in the Kortrijk goal, with a nice volley. Five minutes before the break, Christian Brüls made it 0-2 with eleven meters. Ref Lambrechts put the ball on the spot after a draw error by Watanabe on Hara. Immediately afterwards, Mbayo had the chance to bring the Guys back into the game, but he put Selemani’s assist just wide of Schmidt’s cage.
After fifteen minutes of play in the second half, Kortrijk succeeded in the connecting goal. Abdelkahar Kadri tapped an assist from Badamosi against the nets. The home team then got away well when Koita saw a nice long shot hit the crossbar. But it turned out to be a stay of execution because shortly before the whistle, Daichi Hayashi was able to score 1-3.
