OG secures Major spot

In the penultimate week of the Western European Dota Pro Circuit (DPC), the winners and losers of the season crystallize: While OG is the first team to buy its ticket to the Major in Stockholm, Nigma Galaxy is relegated after a tough season.

“I think the younger ones have improved enormously since the beginning of the first DPC. But sometimes you can still see the inexperience,” said OG support Tommy “Taiga” Le in an interview after the clear 2-0 win against Brame. “I think the Chinese region is still the strongest, we haven’t played a single Chinese team, so it could be difficult for an inexperienced team like us.”

OG has now secured their place at the Major in Stockholm, but will have to defend their top spot in the European Dota Pro Circuit league against Gladiator and possibly Team Liquid.

On the other side of the table, Nigma Galaxy sealed their relegation with a 2-0 loss to Team Liquid. After a season where Nigma didn’t win a match and just a single game, the team’s hopes of qualifying for the Dota 2 World Championship are all but buried.
