Increased financing

This demand is also extended to MUGEJU and ISFAS (mutual societies of Justice and the Ministry of Defense).
MUFACE has stated that it continues to look for ways to increase the budget allocation
The union has been demanding for months to favor the increase of the financing of the health concert due to the increase in prices. According to union sources, the MUFACE Management, for its part, has stated that it continues to look for ways to increase the budgetary allocation of the public contract with insurers, in collaboration with the State Attorney’s Office.
Health concert
The Mutual Society hopes that the agreement can be modified as soon as the Government is renewed. The health concert 2022-2024 was signed by ADESLAS, ASISA and DKV. It must be renewed in 2025. Previous came into force at the beginning of 2022. As this newspaper already published, there is concern between those three insurers due to a possible bankruptcy of the model at the expense of its financing.
According to company sources, only between the three of them, they have accumulated losses of more than 170 million euros in the year 2022, the first of the current concert. Furthermore, the companies indicated to this newspaper, it would mean carrying to the public health system “to collapse” having to assume the attention of the almost two million mutual members.
The group of mutualists reaches almost two million people
According to data from the MUFACE report, closed as of December 2022, the organization has a total of 1,053,934 holders, which represents an increase of 15,500 people compared to the previous year. In this way, it continues to bring together a group of one and a half million people between owners and beneficiaries (family members of mutual members). If the rest of the mutualists are taken into account – this time with data from 2021 – ISFAS (Social Institute of the Armed Forces) and MUGEJU (General Judicial Mutuality), The group reaches almost two million people.
Cuts to mutualists
This Wednesday another union, in this case CCOO, also denounced that, after the signing of the last MUFACE health agreement, “the services offered through healthcare companies with which they have subscribed to said concert do not comply with the established quality parameters, nor do they do so with the services for which they are obliged to offer, in accordance with the provisions of the National Portfolio of Services and health concerts”.
The union calls the cuts in medical staff “remarkable”the few healthcare centers, the elimination of clinics and medical specialties, such as oncology and radiotherapy; the charging of some medical tests to mutual members, delay in payment of temporary disability benefit when civil servants go on sick leave, the absence of primary care in small towns and the reduction in social aid in recent years, among others, Therefore, its review and update is urgent.“.
Healthcare
From CCOO they believe that the budget with which MUFACE is provided is “insufficient to guarantee something so important as is people’s healthwhich is why we have demanded that the Government properly analyze and evaluate healthcare expenses so that we can recover all the benefits eliminated or cut since 2012“.
Especially, they refer to social and health aid“and to end the discrimination suffered by people retired mutualists in the payment of medicines against the beneficiaries of the General Social Security Regime, with an endowment that increases the item allocated for this purpose in the general budgets for 2024, and updated to the current situation in our country considering the increase in inflation“.
