As expected, FC Bayern has signed Richard Meier from third division relegated SV Sandhausen.

As the German record champions confirmed on Wednesday, the 21 -year -old and 1.95 meter long center forward will receive a contract in Munich by June 30, 2028.

According to FC Bayern, Meier is planned for the second representative in the regional league. However, “Bild” had already reported and speculated in advance about the upcoming Meier obligation that the Youngster could also get the chance in the summer preparation to train in the professional team under chief coach Vincent Kompany.

“Richard is a massive center forward who just ran regularly in his first third division season. In the past round, he slowed him down.

Meier said: “I am really looking forward to the new challenge in Munich and the new teammates.”

He added: “Of course I want to help the team with my qualities, score many goals and thus contribute to the best possible sporting success. At the beginning, it is initially my goal to find my way into the team as soon as possible and get to know everyone.”

Meier described the former Bayern striker Mario Gomez as his biggest model. “Above all, my straightforward and efficient game impressed me. As a child and adolescent, I naturally tried to take a look at one or the other of him, also because he was a striker as much as I am.”

Meier switched from the youngsters of the 1st FC Magdeburg to Sandhausen in 2023. There he reaches eleven goals and six templates in 56 competitive games. In the past season, an inner ligament injury put him out of action for several months.

Nevertheless, FC Bayern had him on the slip of paper – and struck him now.
