The German soccer record champion Bayern Munich has given defensive talent Tanguy Nianzou to the Spanish first division club FC Sevilla and secured a “return option”. The Munich announced on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old central defender signed a five-year contract with the Andalusians and, according to Bayern media reports, brings a transfer fee of around 16 million euros.
“We wanted to give him the chance of more playing time in this phase of his career. We will monitor Tanguy’s development closely because FC Bayern has the option of bringing him back to Munich,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Nianzou moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Munich in the summer of 2020, but the French junior international was unable to assert himself on the heavily occupied defensive end. He made it to a total of 28 competitive games (one goal).
