Third division is “surprised”
As expected, Türkgücü Munich had to accept a point deduction in the 3rd division after filing for bankruptcy. On Friday evening, the club confirmed the decision of the DFB, the previous table 16th. deduct eleven points. A reduced sentence, which the club had hoped for due to the Corona circumstances, was not approved.
Türkgücü was “surprised” by the severity of the decision in the official announcements on the club’s website. Although it is stated in the DFB statutes that a third division club receives a penalty of nine points after filing for bankruptcy and the two other points due to a violation of conditions correspond to the applicable requirements, the DFB had made an exception in the past two years, however, when KFC Uerdingen (2020/21; three points) and 1. FC Kaiserslautern (2021/22; no deduction) received lighter penalties.

Have a say in the third division club forums about TürkgücüHere we go!
Türkgücü, who are now bottom of the table with 15 points as a result of the deduction, was surprised “that despite a corona situation comparable to the past two seasons, no reduction in punishment came into force. The clubs in the 3rd division are still struggling with the effects of the current pandemic due to a large number of restrictions. The consideration of a reduced sentence would therefore have been entirely understandable.”
