On Monday, the organizers of the International Leather Goods Fair (ILM) drew a positive conclusion from the 157th edition, which took place from February 4th to 6th at the Offenbach exhibition center. Although the popularity was still below the pre-Corona level, the number of trade visitors had increased by forty percent compared to the previous event, Messe Offenbach explained in its final report.
The exhibition company emphasized that the strong growth in the presence of international buyers was particularly noteworthy. A total of 36 percent of the guests came from abroad, for example visitors from Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, Great Britain and Scandinavia, but also from Canada, the USA, South America and Asia were represented.
The platform for leather goods, bags, luggage and accessories also experienced a recovery on the part of the exhibiting brands. The organizers explained that well-known providers such as Roeckl and Cromia, who had not taken part during the pandemic, were there again. “All the important exhibitors are flying the flag at the ILM,” emphasized Arnd Hinrich Kappe, Managing Director of Messe Offenbach, in a statement.
The industry will then meet again in Offenbach in autumn: The 158th edition of the ILM is on the program from September 2nd to 4th.
