It is extremely busy in Oeteldonk. The municipality requests people who want to celebrate Carnival there not to travel to Den Bosch. ‘Celebrate Carnival somewhere else!’, the municipality says. The municipality of Tilburg issued the same advice on Saturday early in the evening.
It’s a great party today, the municipality of Den Bosch reported on Sunday afternoon around a quarter to four, ‘but at the moment Oeteldonk is full.’
According to the municipality, it is extremely busy in the city. Carnival goers are asked to walk along the wide main roads and follow the directions on the LED screens.
Don’t take the call too seriously
At a bus stop in Vlijmen, carnival revelers still have hope of getting to Oeteldonk. “We are not small players, we just go into town,” says carnival celebrant Jesse determined. He is waiting with a group of friends for bus 135, to Den Bosch. “I don’t take the municipality’s call too seriously. They say every year that it is full.”
And the group of friends from Vlijmen is certainly not the only one faced with the carnival dilemma. “I was on the train from Tiel to Oeteldonk, but then you’re already on the train anyway,” says a partygoer who gives it a try anyway. Another group from Kaatsheuvel, on the other hand, chooses to turn around. “It’s so busy here that it’s really no longer fun.”
