The development of test methods and limit values to protect consumers, employees and the environment from thousands of substances has also been added to Oeko-Tex’ goals.
“We are more determined than ever to develop solutions that enable our children and grandchildren to inherit a healthy world. Innovation is the key, and with OEKO-TEX® the next chapter of sustainability is just beginning,” commented Oeko-Text Managing Director Georg Dieners in the statement.
Impact Calculator and Responsible Business Service
Recent Oeko-Tex achievements include the new Impact Calculator, which provides the textile industry with the data they need to measure and quantify CO2 emissions and water consumption. In addition, the footprint tool provides information to take targeted measures to improve processes and achieve reduction targets.
Later this year, Oeko-Tex will also offer a service called “Responible Business by Oeko-Tex” to help companies transition to upcoming due diligence laws. The service is set to launch in mid-2022, the company said.
