“The city was not aware of this, we only recently learned what processing this involved,” says Alderman Naert, who also noticed the smell in his street and garden.
“Because we are not a supervisory authority ourselves and therefore not competent, we urged the Environmental Inspectorate and the company to urgently address the situation and conduct the necessary investigations. “Everything must be done to immediately stop the nuisance.”
The city emphasizes to the competent authorities the importance of further research into solutions to the odor problem and health risks.
