Odlo starts second-hand program in the new flagship store in Zurich

Swiss functional clothing manufacturer Odlo is introducing a second-hand program in its newly opened Zurich flagship store. With the ReWear initiative, Odlo takes back used clothing from old collections and then offers them for sale in the store again at a fraction of the original price.

The resale offer as part of ReWear starts as a pilot project in the Zurich flagship store, initially with around 30 used items. Each of these items comes either from Texaid’s textile inventory or from the store of clothing returned to Odlo stores. The selected parts will be repaired by Odlo and will look “like new” again, the company said in a statement. In most cases, Odlo will carry out a thorough cleaning, removing knots and lint or even carrying out repairs.

It is currently possible to return clothing in the Odlo stores in Switzerland and Germany. In order to send even more clothing into a second round, the concept will be expanded to other brand stores at a later date.

“Reselling used garments from previous collections helps reduce waste throughout the life cycle of our products. This is a core part of our promise to strengthen the circular economy,” explains Johanna Heimlicher, Head of Sustainability at Odlo. “We are pleased to now present this project to the public and are excited to see what adventures these garments will have in the future.”
