Supervision of the price of baguettes, Ambassador of Mali in France, the “Merry Christmas” of the city of Besançon… Approximations and false information are already fueling conversations in the media and on social networks, despite verifications by the AFP and a coalition launched on December 6, 2021: Objectif Désinfox. Supported by Google France, the organization now claims the consolidation of 21 media.
As of February 8, AFP can count on the collaboration of journalists from 20 minutes, art, BFM TV, euro news, Fact & FuriousFactoScope, France 24, Konbini, LCI, M6, mediacities, Phosphorus, Rue89 Bordeaux, Rue89 Strasbourg, RFI, Radio France Maghreb 2, RMC, RTL, TF1 and TV5 World. This program to fight disinformation is for a fixed period, since it will end in June 2022, when the presidential and legislative elections will be closed.

By joining Objectif Désinfox, the media are required to respect a common editorial charter. They also have access to training in digital investigation provided by AFP, but also to a battery of tools such as the CNRS Politoscope, or social listening tools developed by Visibrain.
Since February 7, Objectif Désinfox has also launched a verification thread entirely dedicated to the presidential and legislative elections of 2022. 46 pieces of information have already been studied, either false or too approximate.
