The TM database has been enriched by another milestone: the 1985/86 season of the Oberliga Westfalen, which was still third-rate at the time, can now be called up with all game reports and performance data. ASC Schöppingen became champion with a four-point lead over TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus, which qualified for the promotion games to the second Bundesliga, but failed there.
Top scorer of the regular season was Jörg Niedzwicki with 21 goals (overview) – this title, however, had a blemish as his club, FC Hellweg Lütgendortmund, was relegated twelve points behind the saving bank.
