The Pentagon is working on a plan to provide Ukraine with intelligence that will help it respond more quickly to a possible Russian invasion. About it informs The New York Times newspaper citing senior officials from the US presidential administration, Joe Biden.
The intelligence will include images of Russian troop movements near Ukraine’s borders, sources said. Such information, if provided on time, will allow the Ukrainian military to prevent the attack, the newspaper said.
At the same time, representatives of the administration noted the possible danger of such a step: they believe that the Ukrainian side can use this information to strike first. This scenario, according to officials, Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to “sell the Russian public.”
In addition, according to sources, the Pentagon, the State Department and the White House are considering the issue of providing Ukraine with helicopters and other military equipment, which was intended for the military in Afghanistan.
