NYSE title Boeing shares: Boeing probably faces another major order for the 737 Max from Saudi Arabia

According to insiders, the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing can look forward to another major order from the new Saudi Arabian airline Riyadh Air.

The state airline wants to order up to 100 Boeing 737 Max at the Dubai Air Show to build a short-haul fleet, around half as a firm order and half as an option, as the Bloomberg news agency reported at the weekend, citing people familiar with the matter. The number of machines could still change. The air show starts this Monday.

The fact that Riyadh Air does not rely on aircraft from the A320 family of Boeing’s rival Airbus is also due to the Europeans’ current long delivery times, it said. In the spring, the Saudis had already agreed with Boeing to deliver up to 72 wide-body aircraft from the 787 series – i.e. the Dreamliner.
