(THREE AND 1/2 STARS)

Since we are with Jodie Fosterthis recreation of the American swimmer’s crossing Diana Nyad from Cuba to Florida without using a shark cage. To the sportsman she is played by a perfect Annette Bening (for the third time nominated for an Oscar to lose, what are we going to do) and Foster to her coach.

It does not lack any of the commonplaces about sports records, by the way, but it works perfectly because the acting clock is oiled like few. By the way, and yes, we can’t help but mention it, there are uninteresting speeches about various discriminations and etc. that hinder what, in fact, is a sports adventure film.

One more problem of contemporary cinema (“that the film is useful for something”) than of this work in particular, of course. In any case, the Bening-Foster duo fulfills and dignifies.
