Nurses swindle $1.5 million with fake vaccination cards

Lousy scam of two brazen vaccination scammers! New York nurses Julie DeVuono, 49, and Marissa Urraro, 44, are said to have swindled a staggering $1.5 million by selling fake coronavirus vaccination cards to unvaccinated people. Several US media reported on this in unison.

Accordingly, the women not only forged the documents and did not vaccinate their buyers, but also entered their names in an official database. According to prosecutors, they received $220 for adults and $85 for children. That corresponds to about 195 or 75 euros.

Crazy: During a house search at Julie DeVuono, police investigators found $ 900,000. On top of that, an inconspicuous little book in which the Covid criminals meticulously entered their deals. Revenues of $1.5 million are listed there for the period November 2021 to January 2022.

The million-dollar scam was blown because an undercover cop had a vaccination card issued without even coming close to a syringe. DeVuono’s attorney, Barry Mark Smolowitz, confirmed to NBC that both women have been charged.

The other defender seems confident. Michael J. Alber said, “The allegations should not overshadow the good work Ms. Urraro has done for children and adults in the medical field.” He was also pleased to emphasize “the shortcomings of this investigation”. Both women have pleaded not guilty.

The public prosecutor’s office naturally sees things differently, the charge is fraud. Police spokesman Rodney K. Harrison railed, “As nurses, they should understand the importance of legitimate vaccination records as we all need to work together to protect public health.”
