A suspected drunk BMW racer (33) rammed a company car of the Diakonie on Monday morning across an intersection on Kleiststrasse. A geriatric nurse (37) was seriously injured!
Police said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Accordingly, the employee of a nursing service wanted to turn from Kleiststrasse to Martin-Luther-Strasse.
According to witness statements, the arrow for turning showed green when the 37-year-old started moving to the left in his VW Polo. He didn’t get far. He was rammed with full force by the BMW coming from Wittenbergplatz.
According to the witnesses, he is said to have raced across the intersection when the light was red. The driver of the Polo was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The BMW racer too: to take blood!
No traffic light! Volvo crashes motorcycle
A motorcyclist (48) and a woman (48) sitting in the sidecar were seriously injured in an accident at an intersection on Köpenicker Landstrasse on Sunday.
Their team had collided with a Volvo coming from Baumschulenstrasse. Its driver (31) had ignored the right of way.
The traffic light was out of order at the time of the accident.
