The Nuremberg Ice Tigers saved their small chance of going directly into the playoff quarterfinals of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

The Franconians defeated the Iserlohn Roosters 6:2 (1:0, 2:1, 3:1) and moved closer to the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven in the coveted sixth place.

Daniel Schmölz (18th, 57th), Dane Fox (25th, 43rd), Tim Bender (37th) and Tim Fleischer (58th) scored the Nuremberg goals. Joe Whitney (23rd) and Alec McCrea (55th) were successful for Iserlohn.

Despite the defeat, the Roosters’ relegation should no longer be seriously threatened.
