More and more negative reports are emerging from the construction sector and they are not unfounded now that the Bureau of Statistics is publishing the most recent figures on the number of building permits issued today. During the first five months of 2023, those for residential new construction dropped by 17% compared to the same period last year. The renovation market also took a hit.
