At the end of last year, 373,084 Dutch people received a WIA benefit, which is intended for people who are fully or partially incapacitated for work. That number is 7 percent higher than the year before, according to the annual report of the benefits agency UWV. According to chairman Maarten Camps, this is mainly due to the aging of the working population.
