Number of corona patients in hospitals increased again | Inland

Employees of the nursing wards currently care for 1528 people with corona, an increase of 25 patients compared to 24 hours ago. 257 new people with corona arrived, but because patients also left the wards, the occupation increased less quickly.

In the intensive care units, the number of corona patients has decreased in the past 24 hours. There are currently 154 people with corona on ICs, six fewer than Friday. Nine new patients were added to the intensive care units, but because more people left the wards, the occupancy still fell. The number of corona patients on ICs fluctuated between 150 and 170 last week.

The LCPS does not distinguish between people who have to be hospitalized because of their corona infection and people who are in hospital for something else, but also happen to have corona. According to the LCPS, it makes no difference to the pressure on hospital care whether people are hospitalized because of or only with corona. Patients with corona all have to be nursed in isolation and that takes a lot of extra time.
