Number of asylum seekers sleeping outside at Ter Apel does not fall | Inland

At the application center for asylum seekers in Ter Apel, many people will again spend the night outside. The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) reports that it concerns about as many people as the previous nights. At that time, about a hundred asylum seekers slept outside each time.

According to a spokeswoman for the COA, asylum seekers were taken from Ter Apel to other locations on Saturday. This allowed those waiting at the registration center to move on. But new people have also been added, so that the number of people waiting outside the application center in Ter Apel has remained the same.

The application center in Ter Apel and the asylum seekers’ centers have been overcrowded for a long time. The security regions have therefore agreed with the Ministry of Justice and Security that they will realize many extra places for asylum seekers until 1 October. The cabinet also informed the House of Representatives in a letter last week that it would introduce a law to force municipalities to receive asylum seekers.
