Some exciting, but especially fresh moments for window cleaner Henk van der Tak, who got stuck at a lonely height on Handelsweg in Amstelveen this afternoon. Because his bowl stopped moving, the fire brigade had to save him from the third high, wrote the Amstelveen broadcaster AAN! earlier today

That happened about an hour after the fire service rescued the window cleaner. “A lot of people were watching and everyone clapped for me,” De HaGe said to NH Nieuws shortly after an invigorating shower.

“I hung in that container for an hour at a height of twenty meters. It was exciting, but I did enjoy it. The container stopped moving due to a power failure,” he says. “I’ve experienced that before, but usually they can pull it up.”

‘Spicy breeze’

That didn’t work out this time, so he experienced firsthand that it is quite cold for the time of year. “If I had been in the sun, I would have enjoyed it too, but there was a strong wind,” he says.

“Fortunately, someone was able to give me a sweater through a crack in a window. That just happened, because those windows can’t actually open. If they could open, there would be no need for a container.”
