Nuisance check at Kortrijk station passed

Both the travelers on the trains that came from France and the travelers from the interior, everyone had to believe it. A total of 1500 people were checked.

DRUGS

53 people were taken out by the drug dog, of which 23 turned out to be positive and therefore had drugs in their pocket. As a result, 30 individuals were false positives, meaning they had previously used or possessed drugs. In addition to marijuana and hashish, user quantities of XTC, MDMA, Heroine, cocaine, mefidrone and ketamine were also found. A PV was drawn up for each user quantity. 3 of the 23 persons had larger quantities with them. This was settled through the immediate amicable settlement procedure.

OTHER FINDINGS:

  • 2 PVs for illegal residence – the further handling was done by the Immigration Office
  • 1 pv for using a false identity card
  • 1 suspected person was carrying a prohibited weapon
  • 1 missing minor was found
  • 3 people were reported for computer fraud, they were interrogated
  • 1 person received a PV for disturbing public order

“This large-scale action went very smoothly and without incident. The enthusiasm and commitment of the aspiring inspectors of the West Flemish Police School were also certainly an added value for the police officers of PZ Vlas, who were happy to share their skills and experiences. Even on a Saturday afternoon and evening it was striking how many people took the train to Kortrijk. It is therefore certainly worthwhile to carry out such checks at the weekend as well. The action was therefore very successful,” says Thomas Detavernier of the Vlas police zone.
