Nuisance action: “65% of all bus rides end; at Coastal tram 35%”

De Lijn warns of nuisance today due to the national trade union action. According to the public transport company, six out of ten journeys will be made in Flanders today.

There are some differences at the provincial level. For example, De Lijn expects the most nuisance in East Flanders and Antwerp, where only 55 percent of the journeys will be made in both provinces. This is followed by Flemish Brabant with 60 percent of the transport that does run. In West Flanders this is 65 percent and, after all, in Limburg seven out of ten vehicles will be on the road.

The three trade unions ABVV, ACV and ACLVB are protesting in Brussels on Friday for the revision of the wage standard law of 1996. In addition to the action in Brussels, there will also be mobilization that day at 11.55 am on the Ghent Kramersplein and at 9.30 am on the Operaplein in Antwerp.

“Major impact for Coastal Tram”

Most nuisance will mainly occur in and around the cities of Ghent and Antwerp. The impact on the Coastal Tram will also be large, approximately 35 percent of all journeys are on the road.

“De Lijn deeply regrets the inconvenience and inconvenience this union action entails for travelers,” it sounds. Travelers can already check whether the bus or tram will run on the site on Friday delijn.be/alternatievedienstverlening

Obstacles as a result of the action will not be visible in the route planner and on the stop pages.
