The band has had fans speculating over the past few weeks. Now it is official.
*NSYNC fans take note: the boy band announces their first single in 20 years. The song “Better Place” is scheduled to be released on September 29th.
On the night of the MTV VMAs on Tuesday (September 12th), the quintet already had their fans’ hearts racing. The boy band was seen together on stage for the first time in ten years. Five members Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass stood side by side to present Taylor Swift with the Best Pop award. The singer also couldn’t believe the reunion. “I had your dolls. Do you have anything planned? What will happen now? “You are pop par excellence, and to have that come out of your golden pop hands is…too much,” Swift celebrated.
As early as the end of August 2023, posters for the third part of the film series “Trolls” gave a hint of new music from the band. The advertising featured the group’s logo and a QR code that led to a website with an audio sample. The trailer for the children’s film “Trolls Band Together” also gave a foretaste of the new hit.
*NSYNC themselves announced “Better Place” with a mysterious post in which the boy band moves their lips to the sound of the cult series “Friends”. In the chaotic scene, characters Rachel and Joey discuss whether they know about the same secret within the friend group. The video caption only consists of the side-eye emoji, which usually alludes to a suspicious situation.
Before *NSYNC finally split up in 2007, the band took a five-year break. Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake focused entirely on his solo career as a musician and actor. His most recent album MAN OF THE WOODS was released in 2018.
