Users cannot add new Mir cards to Apple Pay wallet, they write “Kommersant”, VCAnd iXBT. At the same time, already linked cards continue to work. The National Payment Card System told RBC that they were seeing a “significant decrease” in card downloads to the service.
“Payment with Mir cards already loaded into the Apple Pay service goes through without restrictions. On the NSPK side, everything is working properly. We sent a request to Apple, we are waiting for information, ”the NSPK said.

Apple Pay and Google Pay stopped working with Visa and Mastercard cards in early March, shortly after these payment systems stopped working in Russia.
At the end of February, the Central Bank announced that Apple Pay and Google Pay would stop working with cards of banks that fell under blocking sanctions. This US list includes VTB, Otkritie, Sovcombank, PSB and Novikombank.
