NPO star Prem Radhakishun also yells at editors

NPO Radio 1 star Prem Radhakishun understands nothing of the fuss about Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s misconduct. He himself simply shouts loudly at his editors.

Prem Radhakishun finds it very strange that Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is being put through the wringer because of his tyrannical behavior on the editorial board of De Wereld Draait Door. He thinks that de Volkskrant has blown it all up a lot, he says in his program Zwarte Prietpraat on NPO Radio 1.

‘Matthijs is a professional!’

De Volkskrant cannot be trusted anyway, says Prem. “I distrust everything written by the folk rag, for in the past I have seen the folk rag lie. Second, the only person mentioned by name is his makeup artist. I want to know who all those anonymous people are and how long they have worked there.”

Prem himself has often been in DWDD. “I know people who have worked there for fifteen years, including female editors, and I can tell you: I look at Matthijs van Nieuwkerk as a fantastic craftsman. That sound man he allegedly called names did not work for BNNVARA, but for the facilities company.”

Prem also cares

Swearing at editors is good, according to Prem. “I don’t work so hard for someone, a loser too lazy to do their job, to ruin my program. If you call that cross-border behavior, please! I want more people with transgressive behavior and all those delicate souls who think there is no safe working environment, then perk up!”

He continues: “It is precisely the people I send to their shit that I think are worth investing in, because the moment I stop calling you names, I think: you know what, I’ll let your contract expire, and then you’re going to blow your mind . I always tell people, ‘If I scold you, I think you’re worth investing in.’”

Culture at PowNed

Prem thinks it also makes sense for presenters like him to scold editors. “If you scold the employee, it’s from your heart.”

It does not seem to be a problem for Prem’s employer PowNed. After all, its boss, Dominique Weesie, also scolds employees himself, says former employee Jan Versteegh. “If I did something wrong, I was told by the entire editorial staff that it was very bad. By the chairman, Dominique Weesie.”

Scolding Weesie

Jan tells, also on NPO Radio 1, that that was really not fun. “I don’t know what words I can say here on the radio, but if someone says to you, in front of all your colleagues: ‘This sucks, you did it shit, it’s nothing, how dare you turn this in ?’, yes, that’s not nice. (…) It was not always very pleasant there.”

As a starting editor, it is terribly hard, says Jan. “At a moment like that, I could almost disappear into the ground.”

cesspit

Will a cesspool soon open about PowNed? It wouldn’t surprise Jan Roos:
