‘NPO does nothing with inverted flags’

Jort Kelder fears that the gap between the NPO and ordinary citizens will only widen. He thinks there are far too few ‘inverted flags’ in the new programming.

According to Jort Kelder, it is extremely unwise that the voice of the ordinary citizen hardly resonates in the programming of the public broadcaster. He expressed his concern at the NPO’s seasonal presentation on Tuesday when he was asked for his opinion by a Shownieuws reporter.

Jort misses flags

Jort believes that the NPO should be very careful. “What I miss in the programming, to be honest, are the inverted flags, the inconvenience in the Netherlands. That comes through in the news programs, but you don’t see that in a series,” says the television producer.

You cannot ignore such a large group in the Netherlands, he thinks. “I don’t see enough countryside. I’m a canal ring guy, so it’s not up to me to make that, but up to others.”

Tjitske also critical

Tjitske Reidinga also had a strong opinion at the season presentation. She has made it to both RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws. “She now works behind the scenes for a production company, for which she is lobbying to sell series and such,” said Private boss Evert Sankrediets.

Tjitske thinks that the NPO is completely missing the point. “I thought it was pretty tough to be honest. Yes, I also miss women my age very much. I didn’t see anything during that whole presentation to be honest. I thought: yes, another war series, again with bombings and sweaty men. Where are the women? Hello, hello, NPO!”

cheerfulness

According to her, the NPO is really going in the wrong direction. There should also be entertainment for the common people in the country, thinks Tjitske. “I do want to focus very much on a kind of cheerfulness, lightness and authenticity.”

“I don’t want to make more things with celebrities either. I think we’ve seen enough of that. That whole ship has been exhausted for two years, so I want to make fun things with ordinary people and other kinds of stories.”
