Frederieke Leeflang, chairman of the board of the public broadcaster, is being protected because of threats she has received. A spokesperson for the NPO confirms this to the ANP news agency after reporting from BNR†

The spokesperson cannot say anything about the nature of the threats, but according to sources of the BNR media podcast Koster & Van Dijk, they come from sympathizers of the broadcaster Ongehoord Nederland (ON).
The NPO wants to impose a sanction on ON, because the ombudsman has ruled that the broadcaster has violated the journalistic code of the NPO. In programs of the Arnold Karskens broadcaster, guests would have made unfounded statements without a reply and thus spread fake news. The budget of Ongehoord Nederland may be cut by 15 percent.
