NPO 1 may stop talk shows altogether in the evening

NPO 1 may stop broadcasting a talk show in the evening altogether. Two years after the end of De Wereld Draait Door, the station is thinking of broadcasting docusoaps.

De Wereld Draait Door was a great success for years on the eve of NPO 1, but the program has been gone for two years. Since then, it’s just awful what the channel broadcasts between seven and eight. Margriet van der Linden was given five seasons to scare the viewer away and at the moment Khalid & Sophie are bored with the viewer.

Experiment

It’s all really nothing at all and that’s why NPO bobo Frans Klein starts experiments at seven o’clock. After Een Huis Vol in May, there will be a docusoap about parenting at this time in June and July: How do they do that at your home? And in August the new docuseries De Makelaars will follow. It can all be read at the AD

According to Frans, it is in principle still the intention that Khalid & Sophie return after the summer. So what are these experiments for? The 2023 schedule. A new talk show is not necessarily ruled out. “That is how the names of Gijs Groenteman and Marcel van Roosmalen fall, who would like to present a talk show together at that location.”

Seven o’clock

However, a talk show at seven o’clock is no longer sacred for NPO 1. Frans points to the statements of Arjen Lubach. “He rightly indicated that the time of 7 p.m. had been created for Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. It scored very well on NPO 3 and then got a place on NPO 1. But that does not mean that a talk show in that place is sacred, “says Frans.

Arjen said he did not want to move to seven o’clock. AD media journalist Marcus den Blanken: “Of course we also called after: ‘What is going to happen at seven o’clock?’ And in all the conversations we’ve heard so far, I hear that they are very satisfied with Lubach, that it should remain standing and that everything around it is fluid.”

Impossible

Marcus makes his statements in the AD Media podcast† His colleague Angela de Jong, the newspaper’s top diva, then points out that moving to 7 p.m. is not even possible for Arjen. “Lubach now records between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM and then it’s on the tube at 10 PM.”

She continues: “He will also just need that time to edit that show and portray all of his graphic jokes that he has. If you go through with that and he has to be on channel at 7 p.m., then he has to start recording at 2:30 p.m. Now he has twenty minutes and then it should be fifty minutes.”

Complicated

Albert Verlinde closes in Show news It doesn’t matter that the seven-hour talk show will soon be a thing of the past. “If it works, it will be quite complicated for the talk shows. They say they will give Khalid & Sophie another chance, but the moment it works and you attract 1 million viewers with such a docusoap, the answer is quickly given.”

“So it is quite restless at the moment on NPO 1, because after eight o’clock it goes smoothly and before seven o’clock too, but that one hour is a broken leg and the broadcaster has to solve that.”
