Puljujärvi told Iltalehte at the beginning of December that he will recover early from the surgery. The doctors estimate that Puljujärvi will be fit to play 8-10 months after the surgery, but the man himself said he wants to be fit to play in six months.
He revealed that he has gained more mobility in his hip. Puljujärvi has been fully involved in Kärppie’s training strength and has made contact.
– So-called resurfacing was done on both hips in the summer in New York.
– I think I’ll be fit to play after Christmas or even before. Still a bit hard to say. Then when I feel good, I immediately want to play. I don’t want any downtime. When I’m fine, go to the rink, he said to IL.
Puljujärvi started his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016–2017 season. However, the NHL career did not take off and the forward returned to Kärpp for the 2019–2020 season.
Puljujärvi got another chance in the NHL in the 2020-2021 season when he returned to the Oilers. However, space became tight and he was sold to the Carolina Hurricanes last season.
The Finn didn’t succeed in the Hurricanes either. He played 17 regular season games with 0+2 power points.
