Supplier Jemo Kettusen the extraordinary appearance and content of the article has divided readers into many camps. Some people criticized Kettus for insufficient preparation for the interview. Others criticized Gettomasa for rude behavior.
Kettunen says in a phone interview that he was surprised by the uproar over the matter.
– It’s been fun to watch how the internet has split in two. I thought in advance after I published the story that the gang would probably read it. I didn’t expect that the editor-in-chief would be interviewed about what kind of story I’ve done, Kettunen tells Iltalehte.
Kettunen admits that he thought at the beginning of the call that he was surprised by the responses from the artist.
– Yes, the situation was difficult. The first thing that comes to mind is that I’m being attacked. One wonders why there is such a text, comments Kettunen.
– Very quickly, however, I got into the mood that this is such a case. I thought let’s try to get an interview out of this, so of course I tried to handle it until the end.
Even though Gettomasa’s language was considered exceptionally blunt by many, Kettunen praised his output and its quality.
– He speaks really well. However, he is the Finnish champion of freestyle rap. I was trying to get content in the interview that I went to get. In his own way, he also delivered it, Kettunen states.

The decision to publish the interview in a different format was made after Kettunen had a discussion with his predecessor.
– I was wondering if I should write about this more like a story or publish it as it is. At the end, Gettomasa mentioned that there is no talk at all. Outside of the editors, however, there is no power over whether the story is published or not.
– I sent the transcription to my supervisor. He, too, was of the opinion that it should be published as it is, and that there is no need to edit it. I took a little slurring and other things out of the interview, but the conversation went 98-99 percent exactly as I wrote, says Kettunen.
Kettunen says that his personal opinion about Gettomasa has not changed.
– I don’t remember ever meeting him, even though we have been involved in the same hobbies. I haven’t had any kind of personal image of him, because I’ve known him more through his music.
– I knew in advance that he can sometimes be difficult to interview. However, I thought I could get something out of him. The final result is now visible to all of Finland.
Kettusen’s phone has been buzzing several times because of this.
– I wonder if there is a threat or an opportunity to comment or if I should let the matter speak for itself. On the other hand, this is an interesting phenomenon, that the reporter asks the reporter about the story he made.
Iltalehti also reached Gettomasa’s representative, who says that the artist will not comment on the matter.
