The two slaloms in Levi, Finland on Saturday and Sunday are the first races this winter for the women. The giant slalom in Sölden had to be canceled due to the weather, as did the descents in Zermatt.
Germany’s best pole artiste is also eager to finally show her skills again: Lena Dürr from SV Germering finished third in both races in Levi last year.

So how does Lena Dürr start the new season? The 31-year-old was on the podium four times last season and finished third in the overall slalom standings behind stars Petra Vlhova (SLO) and Mikaela Shiffrin (USA). At the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Upper Bavarian just missed a medal – but last winter was the most successful of her long career.
