Now it’s official, Lukaku is from Inter. Duet with Zhang

Hundreds of people shouting his name. To thank them, Romelu just needed a smile, looking out of a window of the Coni palace. The Lukaku-bis has officially begun, following in the footsteps … of the summer of 2019. Even the first opponent in the league, Lecce, will be the same as the first time: a succession of randomness, which will make the most superstitious smile. The Belgian’s first parenthesis at Inter ended with the victory of the 19th championship. His return, perhaps, will lead to the second star instead.

There is no lack of enthusiasm, the message of the fans is clear: “Bring us, bring us, bring us the shield”. And shortly after, on the company’s Instagram channel, the duet with president Zhang arrived: “Hello everyone, I’m on the terrace of the Inter headquarters and look who I have here” attacks Zhang in the video. The camera shifts to Big Rom, who says: “I’m back and I’m very happy.” “It seems like a deja vu, do you remember 3 years ago, always here? – continues the president – You will score many goals at San Siro right?”. “That’s why I’m here,” the Belgian replies. “It’s a promise?” says Zhang. “Sure, and I keep my promises” Romelu closes.

From Linate airport to the offices in Viale della Liberazione, Lukaku was accompanied by hundreds of supporters in every stage of his first day in Milan. Already yesterday evening, the streets surrounding the airport exit were colored with Nerazzurri: thanks (or fault) to the announcement of Marotta, who at the exit of the Federal Council had hypothesized the return of the attacker on the day. Nothing to do, because in the end Romelu arrived at 6.30 this morning: the most daring waited for him all night, snatching him a greeting a few minutes after landing. “I’m too happy,” said Big Rom, as he smiled at the cameras and autographed the shirts with his name on him.

The first stop of the day was at the Humanitas of Rozzano. The Belgian underwent the physical tests required by the protocol and at 1pm he moved to the Coni headquarters: there were more than one hundred fans waiting for him, hoping to take a selfie with their old favorite. “If we don’t succeed, it will be okay: what matters is seeing him again here”. And so, outside the palace, the white Maserati on which Romelu was traveling was soon overwhelmed by the crowd. Screams, chants and messages of encouragement escorted the attacker for several meters: the punches on his window are a declaration of love, served to him just a year after the painful separation.

Just like in 2019, Lukaku finished his visits to Coni and popped up at the window to greet the fans. In a matter of seconds he was offended at home, then returned by car to reach the Inter offices. There too, the same script: two hundred fans gathered around the SUV, lining up in front of the gates waiting for him to come out. The meeting at the headquarters lasted about four hours: the attacker spoke with the executives, then signed the annual contract worth 8.5 million. Between one practice and another, the Belgian continued to show himself to supporters, first through a glass window and then from the rooftop of Viale della Liberazione. At 7.30 pm he took the road to Linate, to get back in the air and enjoy the last days of vacation. The appointment with the fans is postponed to the second half of August, when Inter will meet Spezia in the first match at San Siro of the season. At that point, the circle will be closed. And the Romelu-bis will be definitively served.
