Kiekko-Espoo announced on Tuesday that it has managed to fulfill both conditions required for a SM league license. Thus, Kiekko-Espoo can play in the SM league in the 2024–25 season.
Kiekko-Espoo organized a press conference about it in their home hall in the Metro-arena.
Two conditions were attached to the league license granted in the winter: a sufficient number of partnerships by the end of March and an agreement to redeem the league share.
– Last Friday we received confirmation that the first condition has been taken care of, said the chairman of the board of Kiekko-Espoo Oy Amy Rubinstein.
– We have also reached an agreement on the terms of Liiga’s directed share issue.
After the conditional license, the price of the league share has been twisted behind the scenes. Rubinstein did not reveal the price tag.
– I think it’s fair that the SM league itself informs about it. The league is supposed to inform about it in the near future.
Kiekko-Espo’s budget for the entire league season has already been publicly stated to be around 5.5 million euros.
