Lily-Rose Melody Depp celebrates her 23rd birthday on May 27th. She is the daughter of Johnny Depp and French singer Vanessa Paradis (“Joe, Le Taxi”). Their relationship lasted around 14 years and was comparatively quiet compared to the later excesses. As a model and actress, Lily-Rose is now a household name in the international VIP scene.
So it’s no wonder that she can’t completely escape the ongoing scandal that her father is conducting against Amber Heard. Johnny Depp’s fan base, which is very active on social media, now accuses the model’s daughter of remaining silent on the events surrounding the allegations of violence against the Caribbean pirate father that have been circulating for weeks.
When she posted a promotional shoot for Chanel on her own Instagram page in April, it was flooded with a shitstorm by fans. “Not a single photo of your father. What kind of person are you?” it says there. Or the direct announcement: “Support your father. It doesn’t matter what your relationship with him is. You know Amber isn’t the victim. Support him, please raise your voice.” Provided with the relevant hashtag: #justiceforjohnnydepp. “We wish you were as proud of him as we are,” says the crowd.
As recently as 2016, Lily-Rose publicly campaigned for Johnny Depp. Now she seems to be taking care of her own life. However, she was conspicuous by her absence from the spectacular Depp Heard wedding in the Bahamas (which is now part of the drug-and-violence narrative). At the time, she posted at least one cuddle snap with Depp, noting, “My dad is the sweetest, most loving person I know. He was never anything but a wonderful father to me and my little brother. Anyone who knows him can only agree.”
