I write a lot (and enjoy) about food. And I like to eat (and eat a lot). Seldom in the last year has a restaurant inspired me as much as November with its creative, modern, exciting menu of dishes and drinks, the chic rooms and the friendly service.

In the early 1990s, the location was one of the first restaurants in the Kollwitzkiez, there was schnitzel, goulash – just something solid. Owner Holger Glienke sold six years ago, now the corner restaurant with a large terrace has been extensively and beautifully renovated and expanded.

Those interested can watch the sushi master cutting the fish at the raw bar. On the menu, modern Japanese cuisine that’s really fun.

Recommendations: The raw hamachi with yuzu truffle (15 euros) tastes sensational, the rinter tataki with mustard sauce is hearty with a twist (15 euros), the fried oyster mushrooms with mayo (10 euros) just make you happy. And of course the very photogenic sea bream with truffle and ponzu for 17 euros.

The drinks are also fantastic: from the Shiso Gin Tonic to the natural wines. A wonderful new opening in the neighborhood – which, by the way, also serves brunch and lunch at the weekend. Make a reservation.
