Novak Djokovic will participate in the main draw of the Australian Open – Breaking Tennis news



Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, who was not allowed to participate in the last Australian Open due to the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) vaccine restriction, will participate in the main draws of the tournament to be held on 16-29 January 2023. According to the information on the organization’s website, the tennis players who will take part in the main draws of the first grand slam tournament of the season have been announced.


In men’s singles, world number 1 Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, as well as his compatriot Rafael Nadal, who had 22 grand slam victories, and Djokovic, who was expelled from Australia in an eventful way before the tournament last year, were among the names included in the draw.


Djokovic, who is the most successful tennis player in the history of the tournament with 9 championships, has not been able to do this despite announcing that he will participate in the last organization of the Australian Open with a medical exemption decision. The medical exemption of the Serbian tennis player, who was sent from the airport to the hotel where the refugees are held, was not accepted and his visa was canceled and he was not allowed to enter the country.


Meanwhile, favorite tennis players such as 1st seeded Polish Iga Swiatek and world 2nd Tunisian Ons Jabeur will also take part in the tournament in women’s singles.
