Detained earlier Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will spend the night before a Federal Court hearing scheduled for Sunday in Australia at a secret location.
As reported, athlete, whose Australian visa was revoked, on Saturday, January 15, arrived for a conversation with the immigration authorities of Australia and was detained again, recalls RIA News.
The stay of the tennis player in a classified place was agreed by the representatives of the Australian authorities and the athlete in order to ensure the safety of Djokovic.
Previously, the issue of Novak Djokovic’s stay in Australia, where he should take part in the Australia Open championship, was considered by the Federal District Court, by which decision the athlete’s visa deprivation on arrival was found unreasonable. But already on Friday, the judge decided to re-annul the visa.
The reason for the problems that the Serbian tennis player had with visas was the lack of vaccination against coronavirus. Djokovic is said to have recovered from COVID-19 in December 2020. The athlete was allowed to participate in the championship, but the Australian authorities were guided by the fact that all foreigners arriving in the country without quarantine must be vaccinated.
