Novak Djokovic announces return to Australia

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic was celebrated by many fans at the world exhibition in the United Arab Emirates before he took part in the ATP tournament in Dubai.

“I’m looking forward to going to the tennis court next Monday,” Djokovic told the US news agency “AP”. “I miss tennis after everything that happened.”

According to the information, Djokovic looked at the pavilion in his home country at the world exhibition and took part in an event organized by his foundation.

Djokovic, who was not vaccinated against the corona virus, tried in vain to take part in the Australian Open in January and had to leave the country after days of legal disputes.

He wants to “come back to Australia in the future” and “play at the Rod Laver Arena,” said the 34-year-old in an interview on Serbian television.

According to the current status, he would have to apply for a special permit because he will not be allowed to enter the country for three years.

Novak Djokovic stresses “great connection” with Australia

“Despite everything”, he has a great connection to Australia, said Djokovic and referred to “many beautiful professional and personal things” that he experienced there.

In the United Arab Emirates, a corona vaccination is not mandatory for visitors to the country.

Djokovic recently emphasized that he was also prepared to forego further Grand Slam tournaments as long as he was not vaccinated. In Dubai he competes in a 500 class tournament.
