In the third grand slam tennis tournament of the season, Wimbledon men’s singles final, 20-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz became the champion by defeating 36-year-old Serbian Novak Djokovic 3-2.
World number 1 Alcaraz and 2 seeded Djokovic faced off in the men’s singles finals of the tournament hosted by London, the capital city of England.
Djokovic, who had a clear advantage over his opponent in the first set, won the set with a score of 6-1 in which he took a 5-0 lead.
Alcaraz finished the second set, which was contentious, ahead 7-6. In the third set of the match, Alcaraz was ahead 3-1, while only the fifth game of the set lasted 26 minutes and the Spanish took the racket game and took the lead by 4-1. While Alcaraz won the set 6-1, they took a 2-1 lead in the sets against the Serbian racket.
While the first set of the match finished 6-1 in 34 minutes, the third set lasted for 1 hour even though it ended 6-1.
Djokovic won the 4th set 6-3 and tied the game 2-2 in the sets and carried the match to the last set.
The Spanish racquet, the champion of the US Open last year, who won the last set 6-4, reached the final at Wimbledon for the first time, and won the final, which lasted 4 hours and 42 minutes, and reached his first championship.
Serbian tennis player Djokovic, who won 23 grand slam titles, including 7 in Wimbledon, lost this time in the Wimbledon final.
