Nouveau is sold to Pijper Media

Publisher DPG Media sells the glossy Nouveau to Pijper Media. For Pijper Media, the acquisition means a strengthening of the ‘glossy’ portfolio. Nouveau will share this portfolio with brands such as Elegance and Grazia. DPG Media sells Nouveau to focus more on Libelle, Margriet and Flair.

This is the second women’s title to be divested by DGP Media in a short time. In November 2023, Flow was sold to Roularta Media. DPG Media is working on a strategy within the women’s domain to digitally accelerate successful brands such as Libelle, Margriet and Flair.
Joyce Nieuwenhuijs, Director of Magazines DPG Media: “We see the sale as a positive development for the future of NOUVEAU. The glossy monthly magazine NOUVEAU has more opportunities to collaborate at Pijper Media: essential in the current market. Just as we join forces at DPG Media, allowing Libelle, Margriet and Flair to continue to grow digitally, we continue to cherish our solid foundation in print.”

Anton Pijper, owner of Pijper Media: “Over the past 52 years, Pijper Media has grown into a major player in, among other things, the glossy domain. We know how to reach almost every woman both online and offline with our strong and powerful, national and international, iconic brands. NOUVEAU is a perfect addition to broaden our position in the glossy segment. We have proven that we can give the various brands within our family business their own face and look at synergy with love and attention. With the addition of NOUVEAU we are making even more impact, expanding our reach and continuing to build the (digital) future.”

NOUVEAU focuses entirely on women 45+. The glossy is published twelve times a year and has a circulation of more than 28,000. In addition, NOUVEAU has an online platform and inspiring social media channels (online daily reach of 70,000) where women are treated daily to the latest news in the fields of fashion, beauty, art, health, lifestyle, royalty and travel. The sale is still subject to positive advice from the Works Council of Pijper Media and DPG Media. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed.
