Actually, Nottingham Forest wanted to herald a new era with Poseteclou. But after only six games, the new chief coach is under pressure.

“Hopefully I can come back after the end of my term of office and see something somewhere on the walls that shows that I was here. That is what drives me,” said Poseteclou in mid -September at his first press conference as a coach of Nottingham Forest. The 60-year-old wanted to win titles with the “Tricky Trees”, as the club is also called. In summer he had succeeded with Tottenham Hotspur, Posetecoglous Team won the Europa League. At ex-club Celtic Glasgow, he even won the double of the championship and trophy.

But after only six games, the hope for title in Nottingham has moved far away. In the Premier League, the “Tricky Trees” had to accept two defeats and could only get a point against promoted Burnley. Forrest flew out against second division club Swansea City in the league cup and there was still no victory in the Europa League. The 2-2 in Seville against Real Betis followed a 2: 3 at home against the Danish club FC Midtjylland on Thursday.

The fans of the “Tricky Trees” reacted to the disappointing result with malicious chants. “You’re Getting Sacked in the Morning” (in German: you are fired in the morning), it sounded from the grandstand of the City Ground.

“The fans are disappointed. They can have their opinion and I heard them,” said the depressed Postecoglou after the game, which was also boosted after the final whistle in the tunnel. “Nothing surprises me in football. This is the climate in which we are. That is my responsibility.”

But he himself remained optimistic. “I really believe that we are on the right track,” added Postecoglou. The only question is how much time he still gets. Owner Evangelo’s Marinakis is not considered the most patient person. And Nottingham is in 17th place with only five points. On Sunday it goes to Champions League participant Newcastle United.
