The well-known young woman (23) who left her parental home in London as a 15-year-old and went to ‘the caliphate’ in Syria, Shamima Begum, has lost a crucial appeal to regain her British nationality. The then British Home Secretary stripped her of her citizenship in 2019 when she was found in a refugee camp in Syria. She is still in Syria.
