Noticeably fewer drunk drivers on Flemish roads: “But safer? Forget it. Drugs are the problem now”

The police now catch 68 drunk drivers a day, according to a survey by our regional editors. That is a lot, but at the same time there are considerably fewer than a few years ago. In 2017, a total of almost 30,000 people were exposed. Police judges also notice this. But at the same time they warn: “I sometimes feel like I’m in a drug treatment room.”
